Eagles of the Empire is a novel series created by Simon Scarrow in 2000, and narrates the adventures of two Roman legionaries, an optio (who will eventually be promoted to prefect) called Cato and a centurion (who will be promoted to senior centurion) called Macro through the Roman world in the second half of the 1st century AD.
